The first ever year of biennial wine fair VinoÉlite was organised as a runner up to the Americas Cup in the port of Valencia.  Between the days of 17th and 20th April the halls of Feria Valencia were packed with exhibitors and visitors, who came from all over the world.  Emphasis was on Spanish wineries, but not only from the three local DOs of Valencia, Utiel-Requena and Alicante, but from all over Spain.  Occasionally one could also spot a foreign exhibitor, such as RONA glassware from Slovakia, who was an official partner of the whole fair and one lone Sancerrois producer, Guillaume Pinson, who was very impressed with the whole organisation.. 

The focus of the whole event was a 50-year-old association Primum Familiae Vini with their huge stand and a very high-profiled tasting tutored by Jane Masters, MW attended by 50 participants with 18 Masters of Wine present.
