de gustibus non est disputandum...
With well over 15 years of organising wine symposia for enthusiasts and students of wine in the Czech Republic, both by bus and by plane, to some of the most famous wine regions of Europe, Helena Baker and Gustibus can count themselves as being among the most experienced in the country. From the very first trip to Burgundy in January 1996 to the Fête de la Saint-Vincent Tournante, a revolving two-day-long festival that took place that year in Auxey-Duresses, our trips have been all about joie de vivre, i.e. having lots of fun with other like-minded people. A number of trips to the grandest (and smaller) houses in the region of Champagne followed. Thanks to our personal contacts and language capability you will taste with us at some of the best wineries around, learn about the grape varieties grown in the various regions, as well as having the possibility to purchase wines in situ for your home cellar. Regions we have visited include Burgundy from Chablis to Beaujolais with particular emphasis on the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, Champagne, Alsace, Val de Loire (Sancerre, Pouilly, Anjou-Saumur, Chinon, Vouvray, Montlouis, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon), Vallée du Rhône (Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Hermitage, Condrieu, Côte Rôtie), Bordeaux, Languedoc-Roussillon, Bandol, Bellet (Nice), Provence, Tuscany, Barolo and Barbaresco, Bardolino, Catalonia, Jerez and Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Porto and the upper Douro Valley, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, Rheingau, Pfalz, Franken, Wachau, Burgenland, Styria... and, of course, Bohemia and Moravia.
